Amato Hair Design Salon & Spa history
Amato Hair Design Salon & Spa is highly regarded, and well
known in the industry, for their exception hair cutting
and color work, as well as special occasion styles.
The mother daughter team of Vivian and Audrey Amato
opened Amato Hair Design in the fall of 1992. They
started with an existing salon purchased in the Cub Food
Plaza in Tinley Park, IL.
The original salon had seven design stations with a
small manicure and pedicure area. Over the years,
through hard work, constant dedication to the industry,
and an amazing staff, they have transformed from a
stylish beauty shop into a 3600 sq ft full service salon
and spa. The salon features 20 design stations, a
separate color area, manicure stations, and a private
spa area for pedicures, facials, and body waxing. An
impressive shopping area where you can purchase all of
your beauty needs, including Redken hair care,
Bioelements skin care, OPI nail products, and Mirabella
makeup is available.
ABC 7's morning news with Sylvia Perez and Linda Yu has
featured Amato Hair Design Salon & Spa for their amazing
makeover work. They have also been the recipients of
several awards including Modern Salon's Top 200 Salons
for 5 years, The Star Newspapers' Reader Choice Award,
and Top 10 Salons at Warp Speed. Their designer's work
has been published worldwide in various publications
including Inspire and Modern Salon.
Amato Hair Design Salon & Spa is dedicated to their guests.
Their objective is to help their service providers
achieve life changing careers by teaching them to create
amazing looks and experiences for their guests.
Additionally, in 2006, the owners of Amato Hair Design
Salon &
Spa opened The Salon Professional Academy in Shorewood,
IL. This state licensed 7000 sq ft state of the art
cosmetology school is designed with total education in
mind. Their mission is to "grow future salon leaders one
student at a time", and along with their sponsorship
from Redken 5th Avenue they are achieving this goal.
